Shanghai launches promotions for time-honored brands

A series of promotion activities for time-honored brands during Shanghai's May 5 Shopping Festival was launched in Yuyuan Garden April 30.

Guochao time-honored brands – domestic brands and products that incorporate traditional Chinese style and culture – will hold a "Guochao new products" release conference through major e-commerce platforms.

Guochao is not only about the rise of domestic brands, but also the resurgence of traditional style and cultural elements. 

Some 2,152 products from 170 local time-honored brands will be released through e-commerce platforms such as Tmall, Pinduoduo, JD and Hema Fresh.

Liu Min, deputy director of Shanghai Commission of Commerce, introduced the promotion activities, which include Yuyuan Garden tours, Guochao brand news conferences, expo fairs and cuisine tasting parties.

Those activities will keep continue throughout the year, turning Shanghai into a non-stop shopping city.
