Nightlife thrives in Shanghai

Yicai Media Group recently revealed the top 10 areas in Shanghai that are the most lively and dynamic at night.

According to the report, the liveliest area in Shanghai at night is the 1.24-square-kilometer stretch from People's Square to the Bund.

With 310 late-night restaurants, 50 bars, 65 24-hour convenience stores and 35 night scenic spots, the area is a landmark of Shanghai nightlife and a classic route for leisure, sightseeing and shopping.

Second place goes to Xintiandi business circle. Rich dining spots, bars and performing arts make it the center of a trendy nightlife. It is home to 122 late-night restaurants, 56 bars, 12 24-hour convenience stores and 22 night scenic spots.

With 98 late-night restaurants and 24 bars, the Jing'an Temple area took third place. It is a symbol of Shanghai's refined nightlife and the redevelopment of commercial space at night.

The rankings are based on factors such as the number of restaurants offering late meals, shopping malls open past 10 pm, bars and pubs, 24-hour convenience stores, KTV and cinemas, as well as the amount of traffic in the evening.
