Gong Zheng, the mayor of Shanghai city in East China, held a video conference with Charles Bernard, vice-chairman and CEO of French software giant Dassault Systemes, on July 20.

"At present, we are making every effort to build a leading area for socialist modernization and to continuously improve the core competitiveness of Shanghai," Gong told the video conference.

He urged Dassault to give full play to its strengths and to participate in the construction and digital transformation of Shanghai. The company was invited to participate in the 4th China International Import Expo, which will take place in Shanghai in November, to share in market opportunities.

"We are deeply impressed by Shanghai's sound business environment and vibrant market environment and our efforts in the city's digital transformation have also brought us new opportunities," Bernard said.

"We will continue to assist in the research and development of COVID-19 vaccines and other disease treatment options and jointly promote sustainable innovation and development with China," Bernard added.

Dassault Systemes is a major software company in France. Its Chinese headquarters and Asia Pacific headquarters are both in Shanghai.
