Shanghai releases big plans for commercial land

Shanghai city in East China released its commercial land planning for 2021-2035 recently, as it continues to position itself as a premium global shopping center.

The plans put forward envisage that the city will build a commercial precinct which include four levels of commercial land, multiple functional commercial areas and two support systems for logistics and digital business.

The four levels of commercial land consist of two international commercial areas, 29 municipal commercial centers, 45 regional commercial centers and common commercial centers that serve nearby communities.

The multiple functional commercial areas include characteristic commercial blocks, first store economy demonstration zones, night economy areas and wholesale markets for agricultural products.
