A list of specialized service export bases – covering the fields of human resources, geographic information, intellectual property and language services – was recently released by seven national government departments, including the Ministry of Commerce.

The Caohejing Hi-Tech Park – located in the Xuhui district of Shanghai city in East China – was on the list, recognized for being a specialized service export base in intellectual property, or IP.

As a State-level IP service industry demonstration zone and a national IP demonstration park, the Caohejing Hi-Tech Park is said to have the most complete IP public and professional services supply chain in Shanghai.

It has more than 160 professional service agencies on site, including the branch offices of four international brands, making it one of the foremost IP service hubs in the Yangtze River Delta region.

In 2020, the revenue of IP service institutions in the park reached about 721 million yuan ($113.27 million). There were 16 institutions engaged in IP service export business there, generating an export volume worth about $59 million that year and a raft of service institutions had set up branches overseas.
