Anting town in Shanghai city in East China has a large number of auto manufacturers and auto components suppliers and a complete automobile industry supply chain, which is now well on the road to full production in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak.

The resumption of the automobile core industry production and supply chain in the town is seen as being important to the production and operation of automobile parts enterprises in China.

To date, a total of 126 auto enterprises have resumed production. These include traditional industry titans like SAIC Volkswagen and SAIC, as well as leading enterprises in the new energy vehicles sector and the hydrogen fuel cell vehicles research and development sectors.

Shanghai Hydrogen Propulsion Technology Co Ltd is a high-tech enterprise engaged in the R&D and production of hydrogen fuel cell systems, reactors and hydrogen storage systems. Its resumption of output was of great concern to Anting town's authorities.

On April 30, the enterprise got the green light to restart production and on May 2, some 27 employees showed up for work, picked from their homes by a special bus.

These enterprises could not resume work without the free distribution and circulation of materials and goods. Due to the deep integration of the auto industry chain in the Yangtze River Delta region, auto parts, metal materials, surface treatment materials and other related industries are scattered throughout various cities in the YRD.

At present, six transfer stations in the region have been launched with the support of SAIC Anji Logistics Co Ltd, including two in Shanghai, two in Zhejiang province and two in Jiangsu province.

At present, the transfer station in Anting town has opened the two-way transportation channel for auto parts between Shanghai and Hangzhou, Ningbo, Nanjing and other cities in the YRD region.

It can guarantee the daily transfer on demand of 30 vehicles with loading capacity of over 20 metric tons and ensure the continuous supply of key auto parts.
