Shanghai commerce commission head sees Italian envoy

Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce Director Gu Jun met the Italian Consul General to Shanghai, Tiziana D'Angelo, in the city in East China on Dec 5.

He welcomed the Italian envoy and her party and gave them a briefing on the economic and social development of Shanghai.

He said that Shanghai and Italy had a long history of friendship and both sides continued to carry  out friendly and fruitful cooperation and exchanges in commerce and trade, the humanities, exhibitions, science and technology, innovation, fashion and in the arts.

Gu added that his body would continue to help nurture a great business environment in Shanghai, optimize the communications mechanism between government and enterprises, help Italian enterprises to develop in China and Shanghai and provide convenient Sino-Italian exchanges in the future.

For her part, the Italian Consul General thanked Shanghai for its long-standing care and support of Italian enterprises in Shanghai. She said that the cooperation in commerce and trade between Shanghai and Italy was very close and its positive influence radiated throughout the entire Yangtze River Delta region.

D'Angelo hoped that in the future, the two sides would carry out more practical cooperation, promote exchanges and achieve win-win developments in more fields and at a deeper level.
