US group Tesla installs 10,000th charger in China
The 10,000th Tesla charging poll in China was installed at the foot of the Shanghai Oriental Pearl Radio & TV Tower on Dec 26.
The first charging station for the US electric vehicle maker in China was put in place in Shanghai in 2014. As of now, the company has opened more than 1,500 charging stations across the Chinese mainland, which are supplemented by over 700 destination charging stations.
Tesla is the most popular foreign electric carmaker in China. It sold over 100,000 vehicles in the country last year, up 89 percent year-on-year.
Its Shanghai plant in the Lin-gang Special Area produced over 650,000 vehicles in the first 11 months of the year, according to the China Passenger Car Association.
