The 23rd China International Industry Fair
Final preparations are currently being made in East China's Shanghai for the city to host the prestigious 23rd China International Industry Fair.
According to those with knowledge of the international exhibitions sector, the China International Industry Fair, or CIIF is ranked second in the world in terms of the size and impact on its manufacturing industry, just behind Germany's Hannover Messe fair.
Since its inception in 1999, the CIIF has held 22 sessions. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 edition was postponed for two years.
The CIIF 2023 will be held on Sept 19-23 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. The organizers say it has attracted over 2,600 companies from more than 27 countries and regions worldwide.
Notably, Germany has set up a pavilion at the CIIF for the first time, featuring 19 companies and organizations, including BMW, Schaeffler and Siemens.
This year's CIIF will shine a light on intelligence, green development and integration – in line with Shanghai's focus on developing six significant industries, including high-end equipment and automobiles.
The organizers say that many of the exhibited items at the CIIF 2023 have undergone three years of preparations and refinement. Of these, Delta Electronics – focusing on its development of zero-carbon factories – will present energy-saving technologies in power electronics, promoting internet of things-based green and low-carbon solutions.
Other notable items and solutions include the spherically mounted retroreflector mobile composite robots from FANUC – a Japanese group – the SC series of motion controllers from Shanghai STEP Electric, as well as a collaborative multi-functional minor parts assembly from German automation company Festo.
