Shanghai Fashion Week
The 2024 Spring/Summer MODE Shanghai Fashion Trade Show, which kicked off on Oct 8, will run for five days in the IM Shanghai Changning International commercial complex – located in the Changning district of East China's Shanghai.
As a central part of Shanghai Fashion Week, the show has established itself as "Asia's largest order season" by joining hands with six other major exhibitions.
In recent years, it has also proactively responded to the country's dual-carbon goals, which aim to achieve peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and carbon neutrality before 2060.
It's understood that the main feature of this season's show is an eco-friendly theme.
Exhibitors from around the world are showcasing their products with a focus on environmental protection. One of the stars is ECOWEL, a global pioneer in the research and development of water-based and bio-based composite materials.
It's introduced an innovative plant-based leather made of raw agricultural materials to the show. The leather can be easily integrated into existing products without compromising on its performance and it can be widely adapted to various functions, including in clothing, footwear and bags.
Another top attraction is PROSPEKT, an accessory brand that focuses on green and sustainable development. It's rolled out a range of trendy and innovative products, such as phone cases made from grass, sneakers made from cardboard and high heels made from paper.
These products use everyday materials to create fashion statements that are aesthetically pleasing and practical and minimize the use of pigments, materials and resources during the production process.
Also turning heads is Swarovski, an Austrian brand known for its high-quality crystal products. The company aims to implement green and sustainable production by undertaking measures to control greenhouse gas emissions and protect water resources.
As a result, it's upgraded its advanced imitation crystal technology, reducing the lead content in its products to 40 parts per million, making it one of the most prominent featured intellectual property projects at the fashion trade show.
