Red Star Macalline, the country's top furniture and home furnishing retail brand, launched its "Trade-In for New Appliances" and "Refresh Your Home for May 1" marketing campaigns on April 17 across eight of its malls in East China's Shanghai.

During the event, customers at the locations stand to get hefty discounts.

Buying high-end home appliances at these outlets not only qualifies for government subsidies, but also for additional subsidies from Red Star Macalline itself, totaling up to 20 percent or up to 4,000 yuan ($552.84) per person.

What's more, the brand has introduced a complimentary service for disposing of old appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines and TVs, accompanied by a maximum recycling subsidy of 600 yuan.

These improvements in pricing and services aim to offer users with convenience and affordability.

The marketing drive – named "Trade-In for New High-End Smart Appliances" – coincides with the upcoming May 1 peak home consumer season.

Following the success of its March 15 promotion, Red Star Macalline plans to continue to roll out various measures during the May 1 promotion period, in a bid to capture more of the spring home decoration market in the first half of the year.

Customers can find bargains by scanning the Red Star mini-program QR code for a 9.9-yuan cashback voucher. For purchases exceeding 5,000 yuan, they can receive a cashback of 500 yuan. Higher cashback amounts are available for bigger purchases, capped at 3,500 yuan per user for up to three participations.

Additionally, customers who make purchases worth a total of 30,000 yuan in branded items in the city can participate in a free draw, while those spending 5,000 yuan get the chance to win exciting prizes.
