US plastics group Invista to make CIIE debut in Shanghai
Invista – a US-based producer of chemical intermediates, polymers and fibers – has announced its participation in the upcoming 7th China International Import Expo, or CIIE.
This marks Invista's first appearance at the event, being held in Shanghai on Nov 5-10.
The establishment of the new materials zone at the expo presents an excellent opportunity for the company to showcase its innovations, said Kyle Redinger, Invista's vice-president of upstream nylon business in the Asia-Pacific region.
This year's CIIE features a newly dedicated zone for new materials within the Intelligent Industry & Information Technology Exhibition Area.
New materials giants from multiple countries and regions – including the US, Japan, Germany, Singapore, Brazil and Italy – along with top players from niche sectors of the new materials industry, will debut in the zone.
Invista is one of the world's biggest producers of nylon 6,6 intermediates and polymers. Over the past decade, it has invested over 14 billion yuan ($1.96 billion) in the nylon 6,6 industry supply chain in China, according to Redinger.
The company's products are utilized in sectors such as the automotive sector and electronics. Redinger expressed hopes that the CIIE platform would enable more visitors and partners to better understand their new products and technologies.
Invista's nylon 6,6 polymer boasts comprehensive performance benefits – including resistance to heat, hydrolysis and abrasion. It can replace metal for the production of high-strength, corrosion-resistant and low-density parts.
Also making its debut at the CIIE is the Nippon Paint Holdings Co Ltd, which will have a 300-square-meter exhibition area in the new materials zone.
In addition, Honeywell, a global leader in automation, aviation and energy transition, will attend the expo for the seventh time – displaying its latest achievements in the new materials zone.
