Shanghai serves as a hub to create better business environment
A group of 42 foreign-funded projects worth $7.7 billion landed in September in Shanghai, a characteristic parameter city for foreign investment.
Among the 42 projects are 25 new projects and 17 additional projects. In terms of industry, there are 20 manufacturing projects with total investment of about $2.4 billion. There were 22 service projects with total investment of about $5.3 billion.
In addition, 15 projects with over $100 million in investment are involved in intelligent manufacturing, biomedicine, chemicals, integrated circuits, new energy, new materials, trade, finance and other fields, which shows that Shanghai is taking great strides towards a higher level in attracting foreign investment.
The metropolis always gives a cordial welcome to all kinds of enterprises investing in thie city. In the first eight months of 2019, the number of newly established foreign-funded projects, contracted and paid-in foreign-funded projects in Shanghai continued to grow rapidly, with increases of 47.8, 9.6 and 13.4 percent.
There were 31 new regional headquarters of multinational companies, including 18 Asia-Pacific headquarters and 10 research and development centers. A total of 701 regional headquarters of multinational companies have been introduced, including 106 Asia-Pacific headquarters and 451 research and development centers.
