French Dargaud Group builds intl cultural bases in Lin-gang Special Area
A signing ceremony of cultural cooperation projects between China and France was held at the official residence of the French consul general in Shanghai on Nov 5.
Lingang Group, Shanghai Culture Radio and Television Group, Dargaud Group of France and Shanghai Longman Culture Communication (Group) jointly signed the cooperation agreement on developing and building an international cultural copyright trading center and International Cultural Industrial Park in Lin-gang Special Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone.

As an important Sino-French project in the field of cultural cooperation, the project's contract was signed during the second China International Import Expo held from Nov 5 to 10. The implementation of the project will greatly promote the gathering and development of the cultural industry and new digital trade in the Lin-gang Special Area, and will also have far-reaching significance for promoting in-depth cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and France.
French Dargaud Group was established more than 70 years ago. Its market share of cartoons in French-speaking countries is as high as 32 percent, and that of animation is 14 percent. Its annual turnover is more than 300 million euros ($43 million). It is the third-largest publishing group in France. In China, Dargaud Group video center has been engaged in business for many years, including the sale of cartoon copyright, the acquisition of copyright in the French publishing market, the processing and production of cartoons, books and derivative products.
