Deep integration of online and offline is making "Shanghai shopping" more and more popular.

Statistics from the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce show that in the first nine months of this year, e-commerce transactions in Shanghai reached 2.44 trillion yuan ($345.28 billion), up 16.1 percent year-on-year.

The scale of e-commerce transactions in Shanghai ranked second in China's provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, behind only that of Guangdong province.

In the first nine months of this year, the B2B (business to business) trading volume in Shanghai reached 1.47 trillion, up 9.1 percent year-on-year. The city's steel industry's B2B scale continues to maintain the leading position in China. Of the 15 steel platforms among the top 100 B2B enterprises in China, six are from Shanghai.

In the first nine months of this year, online shopping turnover in Shanghai was 966.44 billion yuan, up 28.6 percent year-on-year; online shopping turnover of goods was 436.68 billion yuan, up 27.6 percent, and of services was 529.76 billion yuan, up 29.3 percent.

As the experimental field for new retail, Shanghai in recent years has provided consumers with new experiences through innovative technologies and means such as "social e-commerce", "community e-commerce" and "unmanned retail e-commerce".

The integration of online and offline has also injected strong momentum into the transformation of traditional businesses in Shanghai.

Shanghai is fully supporting the transformation of its traditional business districts into smart ones. The pedestrian streets and large commercial complexes in the central city actively carry out digital transformation in such fields as consumption behavior record analysis, shopping credits exchange and virtual reality shopping guides.
