After the China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2019 wrapped up in Shanghai in November, a delegation from the CIIE Bureau and the National Exhibition Convention Center visited Greece on Dec 9 to promote the third expo.

The delegation visited the Greek Agency for Enterprise Development just after arriving in Athens.

"Many foreign friends always believe that before going to China, China is a "mystery" to them, and after being in China, they become a fan of China. We welcome early registration of Greek exhibitors for the third annual import expo, to share the large market of China's 1.4 billion people," said Shi Huangjun, head of the delegation.

Dimitris Kourkoules, a board member of the Greek Agency for Enterprise Development, said that the participation of Greek enterprises in the second CIIE had a very good effect and played an important role in promoting product exports and reducing the trade deficit. He hopes Greek exhibitors will participate in the third edition and achieve more precise coordination with their Chinese counterparts.

As Greece was one of the guest countries of honor at this year's second expo, a group of 65 Greek enterprises participated in the event. Featuring comprehensive exhibitions, the pavilion set up by Greece, with the theme of "Greece: a culture of sharing", showcased the time-honored and brilliant Greek civilization and the country's advantageous industries, and proved to be one of the most popular exhibition stands.

In the business exhibition, Greek enterprises exhibited in an area of 724 square meters, an increase of 49 percent over the first session. Turnover reached $18.6 million, up 256.37 percent from CIIE 2018.
