Shanghai boosts manufacturing industry
Shanghai's manufacturing industry stepped out of its comfort zone and achieved sustained growth for four consecutive months from August this year.
The gross industrial output value rose 6.5 percent year-on-year in November, the fastest pace in almost 19 months. Since August, the growth of industrial scale in Shanghai has turned from negative to positive, achieving steady and providing strong support for the year's overall industrial stabilization.
The recent industrial recovery in Shanghai is closely related to previous investment, but it is not a simple investment pull. A raft of major projects focused on releasing production capacity and meeting market demand, backed by continued investment in high-growth sectors targeted by Shanghai's manufacturing sector also played a role.
The comprehensive screen display of the flexible AMOLED production line with advanced layout in Shanghai is becoming a new standard for upgrading the current mobile phone market.
"Orientation is one of the driving forces behind the current and future development of our display screens," said Chen Zhihong, vice general manager of EverDisplay Optronics (Shanghai) Ltd.
Three years ago, based on the development trend of future display screens, Hehui Electronics invested 27.28 billion yuan ($3.89 billion) in a new generation production line. Currently, the newly-opened line of EverDisplay Optronics is not only driving the growth of industrial output but also pushing the industrial chain to the higher level.
On the other hand, exports also play a key role in affecting Shanghai's industrial trends. Two years ago, the world's first fully automated dock opened at Shanghai.
In December, two automated docks are set to be opened and completed respectively in Italy and the United Arab Emirates. Behind both of the Fourth-generation docks is the contribution of Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (ZPMC) which has brought advanced technology to overseas customers.
