Shanghai focuses on development of domestic service
The First International Forum on the Development and Investment of China's Domestic Service Industry was held in Shanghai on Dec 18.
The event gathered 500 scholars and other expert participants from home and abroad, including representatives of domestic service enterprises and mass media outlets.
The representatives analyzed the development of the domestic service industry from the perspectives of globalization, specialization and industrialization, shared their successful experiences in the development of the industry, and discussed the difficulties and problems in the process of its development.
In addition, the forum intended to operate as a platform for the international communication of the domestic service industry, put forward solutions for the industrialization of domestic service in China, and demonstrate its broad prospect for development.
Shanghai, a metropolis with more than 24 million permanent residents, has been dubbed the earliest aging city in China. The city’s municipal government attaches great importance to the strong need for domestic services.
The municipal government has supported establishment of a demonstration domestic service station and a household service practitioner registration system, and has included implementation of the household service door-to-door certification system among its private practical projects for six consecutive years.
