Shanghai boosts intl trade through single-window platform construction
In a bid to further improve the city’s business environment and help enterprises move forward with business operations, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce spared no efforts to integrate the Shanghai single-window platform for international trade with "Services to be accessed via one website" in 2019.
Import and export company border trade involves dozens of links including shipping companies, wharfs, customs clearance, logistics, and departments for approval; it would take three to five days to complete the procedures traditionally. In addition, goods kept at the port of retention beyond the storage period previously attracted high fees.
Currently, the single-window platform for international trade that makes government services more efficient has 10 functional plates with both supervision and service characteristics, creating a service brand in the Yangtze River Delta and beyond that has been replicated and promoted throughout the country.
Through the single-window platform for international trade -- "one platform, one submission" -- enterprise applicants enjoy unified approval service for the import and export of goods at the border.
It has been reported that under the new window system import and export border compliance costs have been reduced by 71 percent and 53 percent respectively, and compliance time and costs of documents have also fallen, bringing businesses real cost savings.
