Preparation for CSITF underway
With the eighth China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair (CSITF) scheduled to open in Shanghai on April 16, an organizing committee meeting was held in Beijing on Jan 16.
Shang Yuying, deputy secretary-general of the Shanghai government, said during the meeting that after seven years of practical explorations, CSITF is becoming increasingly influential and is already an important platform for technological supply and demand, as well as capital and technology.
She stressed that CSITF should further enhance its international influence and be able to provide comprehensive professional support for technological trade.
Xian Guoyi, director-general of the department of trade in services and commercial services of the Ministry of Commerce, made an important speech, pointing out that China's technical exchanges with foreign countries are developing rapidly, and breakthroughs have been made in technology demonstration and tradability.
Xian said that, as the only State-level technological trade exhibition in China, CSITF needs to focus on key areas and strengthen the introduction of major technologies.
Since its establishment, CSITF has been adhering to the national strategy, focusing on building a new platform for international leading technologies, cultivating new carriers of professional and innovative resource links, and expanding new channels for national exchanges in technological trade to build a new all-round science and technology public service system.
