Shanghai focuses on resume production
The 13th news conference related to the novel coronavirus pneumonia prevention and control was held in Shanghai on Feb 7.
The conference highlighted the focus on the staple and non-staple food supplies and domestic service guarantee work.
Safeguard the smooth and orderly supply of staple and non-staple food
A mechanism to ensure the supply of the staple and non-staple food through the joint efforts of "government departments and enterprises, urban areas and districts and connection between government departments" has been established.
In terms of wholesale markets for agricultural products such as vegetables and pork, the market has been supported by stable supplies. The wholesale quantity of vegetables in the city has reached about 4,500 tons a day, and the turnover quantity has been maintained from 5,000 to 6,000 tons after the end of trading every day. There is a supply of more than 5,000 head of pork a day to meet consumer demand.
Provide high-quality domestic services for local residents
Of the roughly half a million domestic service workers in Shanghai, nearly 230,000 chose to stay in Shanghai during the Spring Festival holiday, accounting for 46 percent, while 270,000 returned home, accounting for 54 percent.
Affected by the epidemic, the current domestic service market presents a double decline in supply and demand trend.
A guideline for the prevention and control of the epidemic in the domestic service industry was launched Jan 26 by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce.
The guideline is supposed to provide high-quality domestic services for local residents.
