Shanghai focuses on easing pressure on small and medium-sized enterprises
To support enterprises in the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic and reduce the burden on enterprises in Shanghai, the Shanghai government rolled out a series of measures to support local small and medium-sized enterprises combating the virus on Feb 8.
China (Shanghai) International Trade Single Window took the initiative by launching an online overseas material donation system and an online service window for small and medium-sized foreign trade enterprises, effectively meeting the urgent need for a channel for overseas donations and reducing the pressures on the vast number of small and medium-sized enterprises in the city.
To meet the urgent needs of overseas people and groups to donate materials in the shortest timeframes, the single window developed a donation system that greatly reduces the workload of government staff in reviewing and issuing relevant certificates purely offline.
The donation system has integrated and optimized the existing donations procedures and launched online review services to issue import certificate to accept donations.
By Feb 10, 744,000 items worth 5.81 million yuan ($832,640) from abroad had been donated through the system.
In addition to the online donation system, a raft of charge-free services through the "specific window for small and medium-sized enterprises" has been put online.
The online-service window will provide preferential financial solutions to import and export enterprises affected by the epidemic, helping them to overcome difficulties and supporting the steady and sound development of foreign trade in Shanghai.
