Construction started on the phase III standard factory building (Intelligent Chip Valley) at Shanghai Minlian Lingang Park on March 18. The new industrial base is one of the major projects being carried out by Lin-gang Special Area in 2020.

Intelligent Chip Valley is the first industrial base combining integrated circuits and intelligent manufacturing to be launched in Lin-gang Special Area. It is part of the Overall plan for Lin-gang Special Area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone.

The base covers a building area of 130,000 square meters and will include six single-story factories, three two-story factories, three high-rise R&D pilot test factories, one commercial supporting facility and a number of other facilities in order to meet the requirements of enterprises in terms of R&D, office space, pilot testing and production.

Six single-story plants are scheduled to be completed within 2020, and the two-story plant and high-rise R&D pilot plant will be completed in December 2021.

A number of IC and intelligent manufacturing projects, including the world's top 500 enterprises and domestic leading enterprises in the field of IC, has signed with Shanghai Minlian Lingang Park to settle in.

Land is currently being cleared for the phase IV standard factory (Intelligent Chip Valley II Phase) . The project, which cost about 1.5 billion yuan ($212 million), has a land area of 18 hectares and a construction area of 280,000 square meters.

After the completion of the phase III and IV standard factory buildings at Shanghai Minlian Lingang Park, the park will have an additional 400,000 square meters in total building volume, offering ample space to carry out high-end industrial projects.
