Hongkou receives $430m foreign investment in Q1
Data from the commission of commerce of Hongkou district in Shanghai shows that in the first quarter of 2020, Hongkou received $430 million in foreign investment, ranking second in the city behind Pudong New Area.
During the COVID-19 epidemic, Hongkou has made every effort to ensure the resumption of work and production of foreign trade enterprises under the premise of epidemic prevention and control.
Hongkou district established the city's first government online procurement platform. Through the preferential supply of materials, with prices no higher than the market and settlement 60 days after arrival of goods, the platform helped foreign-funded enterprises tide over difficulties during the outbreak.
At present, Hongkou has provided 10 foreign enterprises with 11,000 free emergency epidemic prevention items, and nearly 100 foreign enterprises with 298,900 epidemic prevention purchase channels, to meet the needs of foreign enterprises resuming work.
To date, the resumption rate of foreign-funded enterprises in Hongkou has reached 100 percent. Hongkou district also provides 24-7 online consulting services for foreign-funded enterprises, as part of its efforts to build a world-class business environment.
