The Shanghai-Singapore Economic Cooperation Roundtable was held in Shanghai on May 29, to carry out economic and trade exchanges between the two sides.

Sponsored by the Shanghai Foreign Investment Development Board and the Singapore Enterprise Center, and guided by Shanghai Commission of Commerce, the International Enterprise Singapore and the Jing'an district people's government, the event was conducted both online and offline.

Xu Kunlin, vice-mayor of Shanghai, delivered a speech at the event. He said that Shanghai and Singapore have many common characteristics, and cooperation between the two sides has been increasing in recent years. In April 2019, Shanghai and Singapore signed a cooperation agreement and established the Shanghai-Singapore Comprehensive Cooperation Council in Shanghai.

He stressed that the Shanghai government will continue to welcome Singaporean enterprises with great sincerity.

As the first important activity held by the Shanghai-Singapore Comprehensive Cooperation Council this year, the event attracted lots of attention. About 80 people from relevant municipal government departments, industrial parks and Singapore enterprises investing in Shanghai attended the event, and about 100 people participated online.
