Zhu Yi, deputy director of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, met with Matar Almowafy, commercial consul of the Consulate General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Shanghai on June 17.
A promotional event for the third China International Import Expo (CIIE) was successfully held in Egypt at the beginning of 2020. Shanghai will continue to work with the consulate general to help Egyptian enterprises participate in the third CIIE in November this year, said Zhu Yi.
Zhu also said that Shanghai will make active use of a two-way investment platform to publicize Shanghai's basic situation, investment environment and favorable policies to Egyptian enterprises to attract more of them to bring agricultural products, food, tourism and other competitive industries and services to Shanghai.
Almowafy said that the Egyptian consulate maintains close contacts with business communities in the Yangtze River Delta, and has facilitated a number of investment and cooperation projects covering agricultural products, electricity, automobiles and other fields. In the future, it will continue to facilitate economic and trade investment cooperation between Egypt and Shanghai and surrounding areas through various channels and platforms.
