A pop-up bookstore themed around the Communist Party of China was \r\nlaunched by Shanghai Century Publishing Group, Sinan Mansions and \r\nseveral other institutions in Shanghai on Friday, to mark World \r\nLiterature Day.

The bookstore is located on the plaza next to Yuyangli, a former \r\nresidential complex on Huaihai Road where the Chinese Communist Youth \r\nLeague was founded in 1920 and home to the former editorial department \r\nof the periodical La Juenesse, also known as New Youth. Open through \r\nJuly 31, it is displaying 1,000 books and 100 cultural and creative \r\nproducts related to the Party's development.

Activities featuring experts, scholars and writers will be held at the store regularly during this period.

"It's an innovative way of teaching people about the Party's history \r\nand promoting the culture of reading among residents," said Gao Yun, \r\nsecretary of the CPC Shanghai Huangpu district committee.

Other events, such as a virtual reality experience of the Party's \r\nhistory and markets selling creative products, will also be held at \r\nvenues including Fudan University and Shanghai University of Sport.

Regular tours of landmarks related to the Party in Shanghai will be available the following week, starting on Saturday.
