New bus tour featuring CPC sites starts trial operations in Shanghai

A new hop-on hop-off bus tour featuring historical sites of the \r\nCommunist Party of China in Shanghai started trial operations on \r\nTuesday.
The bus runs a loop specially designed to include places of interest \r\nin the Party's history. It stops at the Monument of May Thirtieth \r\nMovement, the memorials of the first, second, and fourth national \r\ncongress of the CPC, and the East Nanjing Road.
Each bus will have a tour guide onboard, telling the history of \r\nparticular sites along the route, including the former office of \r\nCommunist Youth League of China and the former editorial office of New \r\nYouth Magazine, which were all important places in the Party's history.
Seung-ho Kim, Republic of Korea consul general in Shanghai, was among the first travelers taking the tour on Friday.
"The bus tour offer me a good chance to learn the history of the \r\nCommunist Party of China as a way to celebrate its centenary," Kim said.
"The great development of China in the past century was achieved by \r\nits people under the leadership of the CPC, which was born in the city \r\nof Shanghai. I hope more Korean tourists can experience the tour when \r\nthe pandemic passes," he said.
Tang Yejun, a conductor at the bus station at the Monument of May \r\nThirtieth Movement, said the bus operates from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm at an \r\ninterval of 1 hour, and an adult ticket costs 20 yuan and is valid for \r\nthe whole day.
"We expect more passengers as the July 1 is approaching, and might \r\nadjust the frequency of the bus after the trial operation," he said.
