Zong Ming, vice-mayor of Shanghai city in East China, held the eighth government-enterprise roundtable meeting online on June 13 in order to effectively understand and solve the difficulties faced by Shanghai's foreign-funded enterprises in participating in the fifth China International Import Expo, or the CIIE, which will be held from Nov 5 to 10 this year.
Panasonic, Nestle, Honeywell, Omron, Tapestry, and BioMerieux were among the six CIIE exhibitors who participated in the online talks. They described their production resumption process and expressed their confidence and commitment to take advantage of the opportunity brought by the CIIE.
Zong Ming said that the fifth CIIE will be held as scheduled, and currently, the contracted area of exhibitors has exceeded 76 percent of the planned area. She specially thanked the CIIE exhibitors for their full support and active cooperation during the particularly difficult COVID-19 outbreak in Shanghai this past spring.
She called on the enterprises to maintain their confidence and take a proactive role in the city's economic revitalization and bring more new products and new technologies to the CIIE.
