Shanghai holds roundtable meeting for South Korean firms
Shanghai's 13th government-enterprise roundtable meeting – held for South Korean companies – convened online in East China's Shanghai on June 16 and the event was chaired by Vice-Mayor Zong Ming.
The meeting aimed to resolve difficulties being encountered by businesses that are deploying COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control measures while returning back to work and production.
It also sought to increase the faith of companies, to invest and be actively involved in the development of the city.
Senior executives from the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency Shanghai Office and six South Korean groups – Amorepacific, SK China, Korean Air Lines, Eland, CJ and Lock & Lock – participated in the online discussions.
Zong Ming thanked the KOTRA Shanghai Office and South Korean enterprises for their support, understanding and cooperation during the epidemic in Shanghai.
She pointed out that China and South Korea were important trading partners. In 2021, their bilateral trade exceeded $360 billion.
Zong stressed that Shanghai would provide a better business environment for South Korean companies developing in the metropolis. She urged the South Korean enterprises to retain their confidence and take a proactive role in the city's economic revitalization.
