Sam's Club, the chain of membership-only retail warehouse clubs owned and operated by US multinational retailer Walmart Inc, opened its fifth store in Shanghai on May 18, bringing more quality products and services to local consumers.

The new store, located in Shanghai's Putuo district, covers more than 50,000 square meters of underground space. It is the world's only Sam's Club store located in a park, as the store is under Haina Central Park.

Andrew Miles, president of Sam's Club China business, said that Sam's Club was committed to providing members with a high-quality shopping experience. He said China now had 43 Sam's Club stores and six new stores would open this year.

According to Sam's Club executives, Shanghai has always led the development of international consumption center cities – and the chain will continue to expand its investment in China and strengthen and broaden its product range with global procurement resources.

The new store sells more than 4,000 categories of products, covering food, clothing, household items, auto accessories and other fields.
