The 2023 Innovation Conference – jointly organized by China Central Television, or CCTV, and the Shanghai Municipal Government – was held in East China's Shanghai on Oct 11. 

The event brought together more than 200 representatives from top universities, industrial parks, domestic and foreign stock exchanges and innovation-driven enterprises. They gathered to discuss the future of deep integration between technological innovation and industrial development.

At the conference, two alliances were developed for Chinese universities and industrial parks, respectively, in pursuit of technological innovation.

The ultimate goal is to fully leverage the demonstration effect of Shanghai's science and innovation development – providing an industry service platform that facilitates the convergence of government, enterprises, industries, schools and research institutions.

This is expected to improve the efficiency of technology transfers and support high-level self-reliance in China's science and technology development.

During the event, there was a main forum called Multilayer Capital Markets Supporting Innovation and Development, as well as a raft of sub-forums. They covered various areas such as large-scale artificial intelligence models, medical and healthcare, smart connected vehicles and technological innovation talent.

These discussions are said to have explored the profound changes and cutting-edge trends in technological innovation from various angles.
