Shanghai's Jinshan district unveils raft of projects in Q1
The Jinshan district of East China's Shanghai got off to a great start of the year in terms new industrial projects in the first quarter of 2024.
On Jan 12, some 13 major ventures were unveiled – in what is seen as being a substantial boost to the economy of the district.
The projects, costing a combined 5.53 billion yuan ($770.88 million), cover pivotal sectors such as new materials, high-end intelligent equipment and health.
A highlight among them is a digital industrial center called the Shanghai Bay Area Building, which promises to redefine the skyline along the Tingwei Highway in the Shanghai Bay Area High-tech Industrial Development Zone.
With an impressive investment of 400 million yuan and spanning 19 mu (1.27 hectares), the project's goal is to optimize existing land resources, rejuvenate inefficient industrial areas and harness the potential of the development zone for a comprehensive transformation.

Scheduled for completion in December 2025, the Shanghai Bay Area Building is poised to become a catalyst in boosting the region's overall transformation and development. What's more, it marks a significant stride towards Jinshan's total economic and industrial revamp.
