Over 240,000 square meters of exhibition space have been reserved for the seventh China International Import Expo to be held in November 2024 in Shanghai, marking a faster booking pace than last year's expo, an official said on Feb 29.

Nearly 200 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry-leading enterprises have registered for the event, said Wu Zhengping, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau and vice-president of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), during a CIIE promotion event.

He noted that a global roadshow aimed at recruiting exhibitors has been initiated, attracting active participation from businesses and institutions worldwide.

The sixth CIIE held last year achieved a record high, with tentative agreements valued at a total of $78.41 billion for one-year purchases of goods and services.
