This center, spanning 4,000 square meters with an initial investment topping 80 million yuan ($11.04 million), marks Perfect Diary's first global innovation research hub.

It is said to signify a pivotal step for Yatsen Holding in advancing research and innovation – with the company now poised to boost the development of its brands including Perfect Diary and to contribute to the growth of China's cosmetics industry.

The choice of Shanghai for the center was strategic, given the city's reputation as a global technology hub and its concentration of innovative resources. Shanghai's attractive business environment too and its status as a hub for multinational corporation research centers is understood to have further reinforced the decision.

Equipped with cutting-edge laboratories and over 300 cutting-edge instruments, the new center is expected to facilitate comprehensive research management – covering areas such as formulations, analysis, microbiology and more. In particular, it has attracted top-tier research staff, with a significant proportion of them holding master's degrees or doctorates.

Emphasizing sustainability, the center incorporates energy-saving materials and modern design elements, reflecting Yatsen Holding's commitment to both innovation and environmental responsibility.
