The Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce is organizing a series of public engagement activities throughout the month of August – with these events aiming to showcase the commercial developments of East China's Shanghai and to encourage the participation of residents in government affairs.

Event Details

1. Smart upgrade of farmers markets

A small farmers market plays a significant role in supporting the  livelihoods of locals. In 2024, Shanghai has committed itself to "Upgrading and Renovating 80 Standardized Farmers Markets" as part of its initiatives to improve its community spirit and sense of well-being.

The event invites residents to explore the Julu Jiangnan Market and experience the innovative upgrades firsthand.

2. Domestic cruise ship tour

Tour China's first domestically built large cruise ship, the Adora Magic City, began commercial operations on Jan 1. This event coincided with the upcoming Shanghai International Cruise Festival.

3. Suzhou Creek waterfront experience

Enjoy a boat tour along Suzhou Creek, experiencing the "CityEat CityGo" initiative. Participants will explore the diverse culture and commercial offerings along the waterfront.

4. Green e-commerce promotion

Join a large-scale promotional event focusing on green e-commerce. Receive themed promotional materials and learn about the "1+12" commercial promotions matrix.

How to Participate

1. Open to all Shanghai residents aged 18 and above.

2. Registration period: July 26 to Aug 4.

3. Scan the following QR code using WeChat and select your preferred activities.

4. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited places.
