After forming partnerships with international alternative data platforms such as Neudata and Eagle Alpha, the Shanghai Data Exchange has announced a new strategic cooperation agreement with BattleFin, a leading global player in alternative data.
This partnership will create a secure and efficient bridge for global companies to engage in data trading within the Chinese market, further promoting cross-border data flow.
The collaboration with the Shanghai Data Exchange marks a significant step for BattleFin in the Asian market, said Tim Harrington, CEO of BattleFin.
The cooperation will combine the Shanghai Data Exchange’s expertise in data trading services with BattleFin’s platform strengths and its extensive global client network. Together, they aim to explore new models for global data circulation and trading, providing more efficient and streamlined data services.
In recent years, the use of alternative data in financial markets has expanded rapidly, becoming a key reference for investment decisions and risk management. The global alternative data market has seen substantial growth, fueled by an increasing range of data sources, including credit and debit card transactions, geolocation data, social media activity, and web scraping.
To better facilitate cross-border data flow and meet the growing data demands of financial markets, the Shanghai Data Exchange is accelerating the development of its international section, aiming to introduce more high-quality overseas data. This initiative will enhance two-way data exchanges with global platforms, helping international data providers access the Chinese market while advancing the digitalization and internationalization of China’s financial markets.
