Major musical instrument fair to be held in Shanghai
Music China 2024, Asia's premier musical instrument fair, will be held from Oct 10 to 13 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
This year's expo will feature 14 exhibition halls spanning nearly 150,000 square meters – showcasing the very latest products of over 1,840 companies from 26 countries and regions.
Prominent domestic piano brands like Pearl River, Hailun and Hsinghai – alongside international giants such as Yamaha, Pearl and Fender – have confirmed their participation. Pavilions from the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, the UK and other countries and regions will also be present.
In light of significant changes in the global music industry, this year's expo will serve as a platform for innovation and creativity. The organizers say they aim to highlight new product launches, technological advancements and fresh business models.
A panel of experts will select the best new product of the year, while attendees can vote online for the popular online award.
The expo will feature an industry forum focusing on new market trends, inviting experts to discuss the future of music culture. Training sessions for dealers will address challenges faced by music retailers and educational institutions.
Special events also include a forum on future music technology and a series of immersive experiences showcasing Musical Instrument Digital Interface or MIDI technology and electronic music production.
What's more, the expo emphasizes not only trade but also cultural enrichment, with master classes and discussions led by renowned musicians.
In a major coup, Chinese international star pianist Lang Lang has been named the ambassador for this year's event, which will also support autism awareness through performances by young musicians.
Overall, the organizers say the expo promises to be a vibrant celebration of music, innovation and community engagement.
