Special concept of Yangpu district boosts growth
This year marks the fifth anniversary of the "People's City" concept for Yangpu district, and the birthplace of the concept continues to thrive with a dynamic economy and youthful energy.
Currently, Yangpu is home to around 1,300 foreign-invested enterprises, including 44 foreign headquarters and research and development centers established over the past five years.
What's more, the district has leveraged its rich education and innovation resources to attract global businesses and top talent.
Key efforts include the establishment of the Yangpu German Innovation Center, which was unveiled with German engineering giant Siemens as a key partner.
The center will host industry summits, forums and training programs to promote foreign investment and smart manufacturing in the district.
Yangpu is also focusing on international cooperation, particularly with Brazil.
In June, the district signed a strategic agreement with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency to establish the Brazil Center in Asia, helping Brazilian companies enter China and facilitating Chinese companies' expansion into Brazil.
Moreover, the district will work with the China Academy of Art to develop an internationally influential art and design community along the Yangpu waterfront. Through the partnership, Yangpu aims to combine technology and art, and create a hub for innovation.
Overall, Yangpu's commitment to innovation and global collaboration is said to have made it an astonishingly attractive environment for foreign businesses, driving its continued growth and international engagement.
