Shanghai International Light Festival shines in Pudong
The inaugural Shanghai International Light Festival in Pudong New Area sub venue kicked off on Sept 19 and will run until Oct 18. During the event, Pudong will present light shows at 10 key shopping areas, offering visitors a blend of visual artistry and enticing deals.
Among the highlighted locations, Shanghai Super Brand Mall presents a captivating light show featuring shimmering lights dancing along the waterfront. Lujiazui has transformed its space with a series of interactive installations, showcasing the vibrant nightlife of Shanghai. Other venues, such as MIFA 1862 and Shanghai Florentia Village, will also host unique displays that blend art with the city's urban landscape.
To enhance the festival experience, an AI map has been introduced to help visitors navigate the locations and activities and discover over 300 exclusive coupons from 32 participating malls. Special offers include discounted tickets for the Marco Polo's Wondrous Journey exhibition at the Shanghai Library, free personal training sessions at DigPotency Fitness Studio in Qiantan Park, and special discounts at various eateries, including free ice cream at Gala Bay shopping mall.
The festival coincides with major events like the Wonder Festival, a significant event focused on model kits, toys, and figures, scheduled to take place in Shanghai on Oct 2-3, which will promote synergy between cultural activities and consumer engagement. During these events, the AI map will also highlight promotions for the light festival, encouraging attendees to explore both events.
Additionally, the Mercedes-Benz Arena debuted the stunning Where the Light Is projection show on Sept 21. Running until Oct 18, the show offers mesmerizing displays alongside water fountain performances. Moreover, during the upcoming National Day holiday, the Mercedes-Benz Arena will host the first Fun Market, featuring over 40 local brands and live performances that celebrate contemporary lifestyle and creativity.
